SCMHA would like to congratulate Brendan Nickerson on his Bronze Medal win at the 2012
Youth Olympics held in Austria in January. Brendan played defense on the Team Canada Men's Hockey team in which they beat
Team USA 7-5 in the Bronze Medal game, he was the only Nova Scotian on the team! Brendan was also part of the Nova Scotia
team during the Canada Games held in Halifax in 2011 and was also chosen to take part in the NHL Allstate
All Canadians Mentorship Camp held in Toronto in 2011.
Brendan currently plays
with the South Shore Mustangs.

B team. They played two great games of hockey against each other during our Fall Classic, each taking home a nail biting win!
Despite the competition, these kids realize the game is supposed to be about having fun and making new friends. They took
time to pose for this great picture and we hope everyone can all take something from this.

It's
that time of year- when hockey gets started.
Parents and money - will soon be departed.
They step on the ice -
from the tots to the teens.
And all the divisions - that lie in between.
But wait! There's a problem - there's
been a mistake!
My kids on the cut list - this has to be fake!
A travesty of justice - a total disaster.
He's bigger! he's stonger! - he's smarter, he's faster!
There's no way he's cut - he has to play here.
He's going
to be making - 3 million a year.
The Coach is a moron - he just hates my kid.
He's better than Gretzky- than Malkin
-than SID!
The Refs and the Linesmen - are cheating I say.
We're getting ripped off - every damn time we play.
My kid deserves better - these people are lame.
Every time he suits up - he's the player of the game.
A good
rule to follow - for me and for you.
Some kids are in wheelchairs - and in hospitals too.
Thank the Lord he can
play - and enjoy this great game.
And don't get your hopes up - that he'll bring you some fame.
