COACHING 101

Step by Step Instructions on becoming a SCMHA Coach

Step 1: Sign up for an EHOCKEY ACCOUNT
Step 2: Sign up and complete the Respect In Sport Online Course
(SCMHA will re-imburse you for the cost of the course once completed)

Risk Management

Step 3: Complete a Criminal Record Check & Vunerable Persons Check (available at local RCMP station)
Step 4: Complete a Child Abuse Registry Form (attach a photocopy of your driver's License with this)
Both these forms MUST be returned to the Development Director (Suzy) once completed

Development

Step 5: Complete the necessary Coaching Clinic
NCCP1 - Intro to Coaching - Hockey Safety Program
only one course is required to be taken per year
Timbit & Novice Coaches must have the Intro to Coaching Course & Hockey Safety Program (Trainers)
all other coaches must have the NCCP 1 Course and the Hockey Safety Program
Please register for the required courses through the Development Director (Suzy)
(SCMHA will cover all costs associated with these courses)
